Over the past few years, I’ve dabbled in knitting. It’s very relaxing, and it’s helps keep my mind busy when I need to focus my thoughts and energy elsewhere.

So, since I’m a coffee lover, I thought it would be fun to try my hand at a knit coffee cozy.

This is one of my favorite coffee cozies I’ve ever made. Here’s a basic run down of how I did it.

I started with the base in a stockingette stitch (K1, P1). Since this is a custom gift, you can make it as wide or long as you like.

When you are finished, just stitch the ends together.

For the flower, I knit an i-cord and looped it together to form a flower. Finish it off with a button for the center of the flower.

I love the contrast between the purple and lime green, don’t you?

And the red button just pops off the flower!

Learning to knit has been a fun new hobby for me! Finding new patterns to create inspires me to knit more.

I gave these as gifts to my family and friends as well as the boys teachers – all who said they love them!

So, if you like to knit, I hope you give this a try!

And if knitting isn’t your thing, you can always find knit coffee cozies on the web!
