Budget Friendly Spring Refresh
The necessaries always take priority over the wants, but should that stop you from creating a home you love? Certainly not! Here is how we are creating a Budget Friendly Spring Refresh for our home.
Today I’m sharing that by using what you have, you can still create a lovely space each season.

If you’re new here, I’m Jen and this is my blog Noting Grace, where I show you how to dress your nest for less and this budget friendly Spring refresh is undoubtedly what my blog is all about!
So this past Christmas, the one thing our boys wanted was a game room – a teen man space where they could hang.
We gave them our old couches and TV, but that meant we had to make a few new purchases for our family room.
While it was a great decision we made, that large of a purchase also monopolized my decor budget.
Of course, that’s how life happens, isn’t it?
But a tight budget shouldn’t stop you from creating the look you want for the season!
By shopping from my home, and pulling last year’s decor from the closet, I was able to surround myself with touches of Spring decor. Here’s how I did it.

Our new couches are so nice and comfy. We got them from a local furniture store, but they are made by Ashley and called Lanier Alloy.
We opted for two sofas instead of a sofa/loveseat combo since our room allows the space for both.
One particularly awesome thing about the new wifi TV is that we weren’t tethered to the internet input.
So that means I can change the layout of my room which I love to do quite often!
One item I repurposed from last year was this metal wall medallion. Since I love the embossed look, I had to use it again!
I paired it with some hydrangeas – my favorite flower – to contrast with the metal. Placing them in a few stacked wooden boxes softens the area just perfectly.
I gathered a few items in a round willow basket tray for my DIY grain sack striped ottoman. This planter and greenery are some new additions this year – all at 50% off!
Now that fire season is officially over, I placed my tobacco basket back as a DIY fireplace screen.
Can you believe these ferns are fakers? I had a few leftover from my silk plant review for my front porch planters, and thought they would look great on my mantel.
So I didn’t change much in this corner where my drop cloth covered chair and ottoman sit other than place my vintage bottle collection in front of this window.
The colors just sing Spring to me! Not to mention the fact that every time I stumble upon a bottle with that gorgeous blue hue, I’m like a moth to flame shouting ‘gimme, gimme, gimme!’
Greenery in some Metal Olive Wall Buckets are a great way to add touches of Spring decor. I just love how it looks next to my maidenhair fern, don’t you?
My painted fabric Louis chairs sit in my front window with a cart I found junkin’ last year. I was so excited to finally have a spot to place it!
Psst! By the way – that door is our latest DIY – where we cut a hole in our existing front door if you want to check that out!
As I have noted, by using items I collected from around the house, I was able to pull together this budget friendly spring refresh for this space.
Mirroring the window opposite the room with my blue bottles, I similarly placed these smaller vintage medicine bottles and filled them with tiny paper flowers.
In order to stay with the ‘glass bottle’ theme, I also added a variety of greenery to my demijohn collection.
So there you have it my friends! Since our budget was tight, we didn’t have much to decorate for Spring.
But by shopping from your closet and repurposing items in your home, you can easily create a space that fills your heart with joy!
Above all, don’t be afraid to try things in new spaces to see if they work.
As a matter of fact – you just might find a whole new look you absolutely adore!

Oh – that’s a great idea! I’m glad I’m not the only chronic redecorranger around! My husband says that he’s always playing I Spy with all the changes I make!
Add in some coffee and you’ve got a deal! Thanks for taking the time to leave me such sweet words!
Thanks Mary! Your words are always so kind – thank you for taking the time to comment.
So pretty and very tasteful! Can you share the source for the tall turned candleholders that you’re using to hold the green orbs? They are exactly what I’m looking for!
I just love when you can shop your own home and create a whole new look! My decor never stays in the same place for long! I especially love the old cart. I found a similar one last year at a garage sale and upcycled it into a beverage cart for our patio!
So many awesome ideas here!! Can you come over and help me decorate when I move into my new house?! I’ll bake you some brownies and cookies 🙂 Hehehe. PS- found this post from Reader Tip Tuesday Link Party!
Jen that metal wall medallion is stunning. It really commands the room. And as I look around I see so many pretty touches with beautiful distressing. All these say “Home” to me! Enjoy your beautiful house!
So very beautiful. Love the glass bottles and sea glass look! Thanks for sharing on To Grandma’s House We Go!
Thank you Michelle! That tobacco basket was a steal! I found in on the backroads of Kentucky for $15 and since growing up in KY – that makes this one even more special!
