Casual Christmas Home Tour

Today I’m sharing my casual Christmas home tour. If you enjoy changing up your holiday decor each year, I hope this gives you inspiration!

Welcome to my Meadow Brook Home!

Are your halls all decked, or are you still searching for ideas? Today you are in luck! A group of bloggers are sharing their homes for this Welcome Home for Christmas Blog Hop. And I am so excited to be joining in on the fun!

Let’s start with our front porch.

Casual Christmas Home Tour

I kept things simple with some fresh cedar garland. The wreath is one I’ve had for years and each year I simply update it with new greenery. It’s a great way to save money by reusing old decor.

For a pop of color, I went all colonial and added some oranges to my planters.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is to hit the Christmas tree lots and gather all the clippings from the trees they trim.

It’s always free and you gotta love freebies! Plus, if you don’t use live trees, it adds that Christmas scent to your home if you add branches to your decor.

Christmas Dining Room

Once you are inside our home, our dining room greets you.

I shared our Christmas tablescape on the blog last week, but wanted to show a few details here today.

While I love when things are fancy – this year, I wanted to keep everything cozy and casual.

Our dining room is a room we want to sit and enjoy long conversations over a delicious meal.

Christmas Kitchen

I added a few Christmas touches in our kitchen as well.

Keeping it simple, I started with fresh cedar garland over our bay window.

A simple advent wreath acts as our centerpiece.

And a simple wreath on the wall adorned with a small black bow is the finishing touch.

I used the same ribbon to hang mini wreaths over my apron front sink.

Simplicity creates a casual setting.

So we left the counters open for Christmas baking and family fun. These small touches were all that was needed.

My favorite room in the house is next to our eat in kitchen and I had to Christmas-fy it a bit.

Christmas Sunroom

Cozy pillows, fuzzy blankets and touches of greenery.

Casual, simple and still welcoming enough to grab a book and sit and rest.

My easy knit pillow looks perfect in this room!

But I know what you’re thinking! Where’s the main tree?

Christmas Living Room

Earlier this month, I shared these fun Christmas DIY Winter Prints.

But what you didn’t see was the partially decorated room. Well, I finally finished the room and I love how it looks!

The inspiration for this tree were these Ball Jars. I just loved the blue!

So I found some fun Ball Jar blue ornaments that would compliment my vintage jars.

I added some vintage bottles to my mantel to match the tree.

The garland on my mantel is a mix of real and fake. I love to add the real for the smell, but a full garland can be pricey so I mix them together.

The final room I want to share is where Santa will drop his goodies!

Christmas Family Room

We recently upgraded our flooring in our basement and while this was a room we typically avoided, now we can’t wait to spend our Christmas morning here.

I added some fun blue ornaments that I used a few seasons ago and it’s such a fun tree!

So that is our home all decked out for the holidays!

I hope you had fun seeing my casual Christmas home tour. It’s not fancy, but it’s perfect for our family this season.
