Simple Ideas for Christmas Kitchen Decor

Excited to finally have family in your home for the holiday season? Here are some simple ideas for Christmas kitchen decor that will certainly keep your guests in a festive mood.

Warm cocoa, tea rings and holiday mugs. All the things I want to see in my kitchen once the Christmas season arrives.

It’s the time of year where everyone gathers around the kitchen island to eat Christmas cookies, or share hors d’oeuvres while visiting.

Everyone knows that the kitchen is the heart of the home.

Decorating a kitchen may sound a bit off to some of you. But many of us have homes where the family room is adjacent to the kitchen.

Why not bring a bit of that decor into the kitchen?

I added some holiday spirit to our kitchen with a bit of red ribbon and a few little wreaths. Let me show you what I did.

This simple Christmas kitchen was decorated with items I already owned.

I’m always looking for ways to save costs, so this year, I repurposed as much as I could.

I started by adding some mini Christmas wreaths to our windows.

The fixture over the table got some festive kitchen Christmas decorations, too.

Hanging greenery from the light is a great way to draw the eye upward. Top it off with some simple ribbon and call it done!

For my centerpiece on my kitchen table, I simply placed a few tea towels with a red pom pom trim as a runner and filled a basket tray with faux greenery.

The vintage Mr. and Mrs. Claus have been around our home for years and I love to find new ways to display them each year.

You can get creative with your decor.

Here are some other easy Christmas Centerpiece ideas:

• Pine cones and candles
• A decorative bowl filled with colorful Christmas ornaments
• Battery operated twinkle lights in glass jars surrounded by fresh or faux greenery
• Create a winter wonderland with a snow blanket and a little house or winter village
• Decorate a mini Christmas tree
• If you like to bake, classic gingerbread houses always amaze me!

I hung a beautiful wreath on the wall and added a layered ribbon bow.

The small diy shelf next to the table got some holiday love too.

I made these DIY yarn Christmas mini trees last year, so they are making a reappearance.

I love how something simple as yarn can make any space feel cozy.

This hall tree sits right next to our eat in kitchen table, so I made sure to add a few decorations here too.

Some green boots and brass bells did the trick.

Another spot to add a touch of holiday is around your kitchen sink.

Ours is prominently displayed from our living room, so I wanted to create a statement.

Small wreaths on your kitchen cabinets can great a big impact on your room.

Simply use command hooks and attach them to the inside of the doors to hang them from ribbon.

Another great idea would be to decorate your range hood with a wreath or garland.

I love using cake stands to display decor in my home. It helps create a cozy kitchen vibe with a touch of class.

A tiered tray filled with lots of little touches are always so much fun, too.

Now let me show you my pantry. This is one of my favorite spots in my home. I decorated it for the first time last Christmas. Here’s how it looked last season.

Last year, I created a coffee and hot cocoa bar in our Butler’s Pantry.

It was all about candy canes for this festive look.

I even found some peppermint candy coated wooden spoons that fit the theme perfectly.

But this year, I went for simplicity. Here how it looks now. I used a lot more red on my open shelving this year.

Of course, I reused a lot of items from last year to help save on costs.

But instead of focusing on the beverages, I spent my time decorating my open shelves with Christmas mugs and lots of red to create the perfect Christmas touch.

I got this fun Christmas sign a few years ago and just love the colors!

Mixing it with different mugs I’ve collected over the years and some faux greenery finished it off perfectly.

Milk glass is one of my favorite things to collect, so I made sure to include those items in my display.

But if you wanted to add a bit more color, blue mason jars would look lovely as well.

And yes, those are Wally World moose glasses, just like those used in Christmas Vacation.

Trent’s mom gave those to us many years ago and we thought it would be funny to display them this year!
