My Favorite Feel Good Soup Recipes

Looking for a quick and easy solution to dinner on a hectic night? My favorite feel good soup recipes may do the trick!

No matter what time of year, there’s always a spot on the weekly menu for soup.

And what’s better than homemade soup?

We have a few recipes that we circulate in our home and I thought it would be a great time to share our favorites.

Each recipe is quick, easy, hearty and absolutely delicious!

Plus – they are inexpensive and offer great leftovers for the next day.

If you are looking for new recipes to add to your soup collection, you need to give these a try!

My Favorite Feel Good Soup Recipes

Let’s start with one that I’ve been making ever since I fell in love with my sweet husband.

It’s no secret in our family that my mother in law is an amazing cook.

We had the opportunity to live with them while we were in between rentals when we were newlyweds and every night, I stood over her shoulder and learned how she made her fabulous meals.

Here’s one of her famous dishes!

Chicken and Dumplins

Move over Cracker Barrel! This dish is a family favorite.

I shared the recipe for Chicken and Dumplins a few years ago and were wowed by how many messages I got about how good this is!

It’s a no-brainer, simple and affordable way to create a one dish meal on a busy night!

Easy Five Bean Chili

This is another recipe from my mother in law that I modified.

My dad is a chili snob. In fact, he said if he could request his last meal, it would be chili.

When I served him this dish, it wasn’t a week later when my mom called me to get my 5 Bean Chili recipe!

It only takes 10 minutes to make and tastes great with homemade cornbread. Plus you have tons of leftovers that you can freeze for a later date, or store away for the next day.

I grew up in Cincinnati, and chili spaghetti is a local delicacy. This would be perfect for that.

Or you can do what my family does and make chili cheese burritos the next day.

The Easiest Tomato Soup You’ll Ever Make!

We went to our church potluck and this soup was the only thing that was bone dry.

My friend got this recipe from a chef with a secret that will blow your mind.

This tomato soup only has 2 ingredients and is absolutely delicious!

When I say it’s the easiest soup you’ll ever make – I mean it!

Tomato Florentine Soup

When we moved to Birmingham, I reached out to another DIY/Home Decor Blogger – Leslie from Deeply Southern Home to connect and get to know each other.

She invited me to her beautiful home and served me this soup and my mind was blown!

I couldn’t stop thinking about her Tomato Florentine Soup for weeks and finally begged her for her recipe.

When she said it was on her blog – I was looking it up and went shopping right away.

Leslie adds ground italian sausage to her recipe and I do the same.

Serve it with fresh mozzarella and it’s a belly full of love!

We make this soup at least once a month, if not more.

It’s quick and easy and it tastes delicious the next day.

I hope this helps if you are looking for a quick solution for dinner! One trick I do is to make a soup on a designated night of the week, like Tuesday. This helps me know what to prepare and gives me four options for the whole month!

Let me know if you try these and which one is your favorite!

  2. I made (a LOT of) the Five Bean Chili and brought big bowls of it to two neighbors. They all raved about it and said it was the best chili they ever had! They asked for the recipe, too. Thank you SO very much for your kindness and sharing this recipe. It really IS the best chili ever!
