Small Space Home Style Magazine Feature

When I started my DIY and Home Decor blog 10 years ago, I never thought I would ever find my home in print. I’m over the moon excited to share this Small Space Home Style Magazine feature with you today!

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming the next Nadia Comanici.

I would flip and flop everywhere I went, spent most of my time upside down and would even walk on my hands from my house to my friends house when we would play.

But then puberty hit and well… there aren’t many 5’9″ gymnasts out there!

And I realized I would never get my gold medal.

So, I moved on to my next passion – singing.

I grew up watching my Mom sing. She was a studio session singer and I would hear her voice on the radio singing all the jingles in the Cincinnati area.

I had my first performance at the age of 14 and have been singing ever since.

It was a fruitful career, but not successful in any sort of superstar status. Oh, I’ve been honored to be on radio, TV and stage. I’ve even been on a song playing in the background in a movie!

But no huge success!

In fact, my dreams came true when I had the blessing of singing with my all time favorite singer.

That was the changing point for me.

The mike drop moment.

Because after that…. everything changed. It was as if my heart knew I had hit the pinnacle and suddenly I had the urge to become a momma.

And that’s when this little old blog began. When I decided to step away from the stage and stay home with my boys.

Oh, I still sing and mostly work out of our home studio, but I needed a way to funnel allllllllll that creativity into something.

So I started blogging and

never

ever

would I have imagined this day would have come!

  1. Thanks for getting the magazine, Dawn! Sorry for the delayed response. I reached out to the magazine and they said that since it is just a seasonal publication, they don’t offer subscriptions, but you can always order direct from their website – including back issues!

  2. Hello are there more editions of this print magazine because I would like to subscribe. I purchased the April edition at my local store and really enjoyed.

  3. Congratulations Jen. So proud of you for your many accomplishments. You have always shined in everything you do. Gymnastics, Singing, Acting, Decorating, Blogging…and the list goes on. However, the best of your life achievements in my eyes is watching you grow into the amazing wife, mother and friend you have become. I feel honored to be your Mother and also friend. Our relationship is so special and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I appreciate the way you approach life with a big dose of love and laughter always honoring our LORD in all you do. You deserve all the good things that come your way…and I’m certain there are lots of blessings yet to come. I can’t wait to see where your journey takes you.
God bless you beautiful daughter. I love you!!
