Quick Coffee Table Makeover

I always search for deals on the marketplace. When I found this deal for just $15, I grabbed it and gave it a quick coffee table makeover for our sunroom.

I know I’ve said it time and time again.

I love my sunroom.

And it still is one of my favorite rooms I’ve updated so far!

But it’s an awkward place to style because it is long and narrow.

So I needed a coffee table that wasn’t too large, had French country lines and was also super duper affordable.

While scrolling the Facebook Marketplace, I found this beauty.

Complete with it’s robin egg blue exterior.

I hurried up and purchased it because it ticked all the boxes for what I was looking for.

However, that color wasn’t my favorite.

Because I wanted a calming look in our sunroom, that blue was a bit too much.

But I knew that hints of that blue peeking through would look beautiful!

So I gave her a friendly little update using mineral paint. Here’s what you need to create this vintage French country look.

Supplies

Romabio Mineral Paint in Grace Note
Mineral Based Wax – here’s a good one
Paint Brushes
Rags
Gentle sanding pads – like these
Cleaning supplies

To begin with, you want to give your table a good clean. I used a rag and gentle cleaner without any harsh chemicals.

Next you want to lightly sand the paint. It doesn’t need much, just enough to give it teeth. When you’re done, clean it again and let it dry.

Next simply paint the table.

My table already had some distressing to it and I wanted to make sure to expose those areas.

So I had a rag at the ready and lightly wiped those small areas that I wanted to feature.

Then you allow the paint to dry and follow up with a soft sanding cloth.

Lightly sand any areas that would typically get knicks or weathering.

I love how you can see hints of the stain and blue underneath that white.

Once you’ve finished your distressing, wipe it down again with a wet rag.

Then when it’s dry, top it off with some mineral based wax.

Styled coffee Table

Ooh-la-la – it was French Country Perfection!

Curvy, sexy, and a little bit colorful.

This was a perfect fit for my sunroom!

Let me show you how I styled it this past spring with some vintage blue bottles.

Don’t lose sight of your design idea. Sometimes, you just have to be patient, but it usually pays off in the end.

  1. Hey Teresa – Yes, this is a slipcovered couch from Ikea. I also added an additional layer over the sofa to extend time between washings. I found a Duvet on clearance and cut it to fit the length of the sofa. Hope that helps!
