DIY Art…More Printed Dictionary Pages
My cute Plantation Desk needed some artwork to give it some pizazz, but our budget was tight. Here’s how you can create your own Printed Dictionary Pages for just pennies using what you have in your home!
Since you can see both the Plantation Desk and the Stairway from the same room, I wanted to have it tie into our Stairway Gallery Wall.
So I opted for the same Dictionary Printed Pages that I had created as a gift in the past.
It’s such an easy DIY – and a great way to create a custom gift for someone.
So I knew it would work here as well! Here’s how I did it!
More Printed Dictionary Pages
I had an old frame collecting dust in our attic. I disassembled the frame and made sure to carefully separate the mat from the picture to reuse it.
When I go junkin’, those old books always draw me in, and collected quite a few Dictionaries along the way!
This was an Encyclopedia of Dictionaries and it had definitions divided out by categories.
I flipped to the Music category and look what I found! “Grace Note” which inspired my blog name!
So I carefully removed the page using an Exacto knife and cut the page from the binding.
See! My bloggy name! (ish)
Since the page itself is flimsy, I found a piece of cardstock that fit the dictionary page.
I found this awesome Image from the Graphics Fairy. Her website has oodles of free printables and vintage clip art.
I printed a test page to make sure it fit the page I was using.
You can hold up your print against a light to make sure it lines up properly.
Next, I printed out the image to the dictionary page and pasted it to the cardstock.
Assemble your frame and then hang it!
*perfection*
I paired the photo with a stack of Dictionary Books and a vintage copper desk lamp.
It ties in nicely with the Stairway Gallery Wall.

Love this project! I am going to pin it.
Thanks Michelle! We are currently working on our recording studio and I'm planning on creating a few with sheet music! Great minds!!
Be sure to share what you create!
This is such a great idea. I was pinning away when I had to stop and read about it. It seems so easy. I am definitely going to be on the look out for old books. Sheet music would probably be nice with this type of artwork as well. Thanks so much!
What a cool idea!! I'm going to need to try this soon!
