Christmas at Night 2020

Sharing the magical glow of those twinkly lights from my home to yours. Hope you enjoy our Christmas at Night 2020.

This was a tough year for us all.

A global pandemic, a country in turmoil, our brothers and sisters unjustly treated, record breaking wildfires and hurricanes, businesses shuttered, jobs lost, and a contentious election.

For our own family, we experienced much loss. This summer, my father passed away after his body had worn down fighting and defeating cancer again and again for 24 years.

And we had to tragically say good-bye to a dear nephew this fall.

So much noise. So much angst.

What a time for us all to need our Savior.

And as we ended the year, there was a reminder of the hope the Christ child brought with the “Christmas Star” appearing to us.

The reminder that we aren’t to live horizontally, but vertically.

To keep our eyes on the King who came to save us.

Birthed in filth and humiliation surrounded by animal droppings and flies in a very unclean condition.

Then taking on our death we rightly deserve to save us all, again in filth and humiliation.

So much noise. So much angst.

But then there was peace. And that’s the promise we should cling to when our own personal pain and turmoil seem unsurmountable.

I pray that this Christmas season, you can take a quiet moment and enjoy the beauty of those twinkly lights.

And if you weren’t able to set up your holiday lights this season, may our Christmas at Night 2020 bring you some joy.

Our family is so very thankful for you and hope that the work that we do can glorify the babe who became our Savior.
