My Journey to Finding Balance in My Home

When things feel overwhelming, most times it’s because something is out of whack. Here is my journey to finding balance in my home while tackling our projects.

It’s a new year, and a season of new adventures and beginnings.

We started this year with intention.

Intention to create a calmer home for us.

But at the moment, it is complete chaos and I’m having a hard time reconciling this.

It’s a funny thing to look at your home with a new focus and intention.

I know that may not look like chaos to some, but that is just one of four that are filled with the same thing.

This is our dining room, that’s missing a dining room table, so it has served as the sort/sell area.

I’m in the process of clearing out my home decor and trying to decide which stays and which goes.

All while also building a new storage space in our basement to finally put everything back in place.

My Journey to Finding Balance in My Home

There are so many factors to this goal I have for myself this year:

  • A healthy work-life balance
  • Carving out quality time with family members
  • Making a conscious effort to limit home much time is spent on social media
  • Taking care of my physical health with a balanced diet and physical activity
  • Creating a daily routine with better time management for the projects we do
  • Taking care of my mental health by resetting my state of mind when the stress levels are high
  • Make sure Trent and I have a date night each month

It’s a struggle working toward the right balance in your home life when it’s a stressful time while doing it.

The past few weeks have been one of the busiest times of the year for our entire family.

And my to-do list seems a mile long.

But I am choosing to look at the big picture and focus on the clear vision I have for myself and my home.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!

My home may be a disorganized mess at the moment, but I know that the busy schedule will soon go back to normal.

And everything will eventually go back in its place while also lightening our load by selling and donating items.

So, if you are in the midst of chaos while trying to achieve calm – my friend – you are not alone.

We are taking the first step to finding a new way to better balance in our daily life.

All the little things add up, so give yourself grace and know that this is a one-time thing.

So focus on the small things and have a daily goal to achieve. It may take some extra time to get to that balanced lifestyle, but we are on the right track!

Happenings at Home

Ever since I’ve been in pare down mode and letting go of a few decor things, I’ve been working hard to list things on the marketplace to sell.

I have been able to let go of a lot of things. And at the end of the day, I feel lighter! And super excited with each small sale I’ve made.

This weekend will be the end of the busy start of the season and I’m looking forward to being able to finally clean up these messy spaces.

Favorites from the Week

My favorite room of the week has been our basement. It’s the only room that isn’t in complete disarray. So we’ve been retreating to this room each evening to wind down.

Every Saturday, I love to share a few favorites I’ve found throughout the week.

I’m completely on board and inspired by these color palette trends for 2022.

Trent and I have been dreaming of moving our laundry room. It’s currently in our basement, but I would love to have it upstairs in our pantry hallway. I’m loving how this looks!

And do you agree that these design trends should go?

We are currently binging this new TV show from Harlan Coben and I am loving it! He always has the best thrillers!
