Creating a Cozy Space to Recharge

I have been so overwhelmed lately, and am constantly on a mission to find and create happiness in our home. So when Wayfair asked me to be a part of their Sit in Style campaign I was truly grateful and knew just where I wanted to add a retreat for myself ….our master bedroom! Here’s how I’m creating a cozy space to recharge.

Lately, in my home, the old southern adage has rung true.

If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody is happy!

Working two full time jobs, supporting Trent’s budding business, managing teen schedules all while paying bills, and trying to stay on top of groceries, laundry and cleaning – phew.

Well, as you can imagine, it’s been a challenge.

But one I’m willing to tackle!

However, I’m noticing that if I don’t take care of myself, then I have nothing to give.

It reminds me of a saying I heard many years ago.

If life is like a bank account, and all that is happening are withdrawals and no deposits, you will soon find yourself bankrupt.

That can show up in marital or family problems, health problems, or even financial issues.

So, before things get out of control, I am on a mission to take time and invest in myself. Not just for me, but for Trent and the boys!

A few weeks ago, I shared some cozy but affordable chairs I was dreaming of and I finally decided on the perfect one!

Isn’t she so pretty!

This is the Vahide Fabric Manual Recliner from Wayfair and it’s a perfect addition to our master bedroom corner.

Our bedroom is styled with a modern french country feel, so I wanted muted tones with romantic lines.

But I didn’t want it to be too feminine as hopefully this will be a space for Trent to relax as well.

I think it’s the perfect fit for the style of this room.

I just love the tufted back and the nail head trim running along the side.

And the fabric is soft and muted with tiny flecks of color.

I kept the DIY artwork in place and surrounded it with cozy items.

I love this Chenille Throw Blanket in ivory.

This boxwood wreath looks lovely on my DIY artwork.

And I placed a hyacinth basket filled with my favorite magazines next to the chair for a quick and easy read.

But what I love most about this chair is the option to recline!

Just a simple push back and it fully reclines!

Now being in the corner, if I’m wanting to rest my eyes, I will need to pull the chair out a bit from the wall.

But the recliner is super light and easy to move.

So now the important step begins.

Investing in myself.

Living in a house of boys, 2 of them being drummers, there are just a few places where I can escape behind closed doors to relax and recharge.

I am so excited about this new space and can’t wait to take full advantage of recharging my batteries!

And if you are in the same boat like me, I encourage you to check out the other chairs that Wayfair offers. All very affordable!

And find a spot you can call your own.

To sit and rest.

Be still.

Pray.
