Welcome Home Sunday Week 99
Each and every week, I gather together with a group of talented blogger to bring you DIY/home decor inspiration. This is Welcome Home Sunday Week 99.

I hope your Thanksgiving weekend was blessed.
Well, ours was….different.
It didn’t go as planned, which absolutely gutted me.
We had planned to set out on Monday to my home state of Kentucky to spend the week with my Mom.
Sunday night, we got the call that we had been exposed to COVID, so that meant all plans were dashed.
It wasn’t really missing Thanksgiving that upset me. Living out in Vegas for seven years, we got used to Thanksgiving being just the four of us. In fact, last year, that’s what our boys requested – even though family was just minutes away.
So we had a lovely meal this past week with our little family.
But what upset me most was missing a very important day.
Yesterday would have been my parents 50th wedding anniversary. And my Mom would be facing it this year without her better half.
I was so upset that I couldn’t be there for her this week. But my sweet Aunt, my Dad’s sister, stepped in and had a day together with my Mom.
It softened the blow, but I wished that I could be there for my Mom.
But life is like that. We don’t always get what we want, and we don’t always know the Lord’s plan for it all.
So we are to trust in His Sovereignty and rest in the fact that this was how it was meant to be, regardless of what we were hoping for.
And I’d much rather have many many more Thanksgivings with my Mom than run the risk of passing something on to her.
So, leave me a comment below and tell me about your family’s holiday! I would love to hear from you!
This week, we are so excited to have Rachel from the Ponds Farmhouse joining us! She is sharing a rustic, DIY garland you must check out!
