Welcome Home Sunday Week 90

Each and every week, a group of home decor bloggers gather together to share our homes in hopes to inspire you. This is Welcome Home Sunday Week 90.

This week, I’ve been putting the finishing touches on the guest bedroom.

My sweet Mom arrives in just a few days and I cannot wait to get this space finished.

But I’ve been thinking a lot about this room renovation process and how much it resembles our own lives.

Before we make a space beautiful, there is chaos and deconstruction.

Items get put out of their place, in a temporary holding zone while you work.

And if you are like me when all that’s going on, you’re shuffling piles from one area to the next and by the end, it’s just a huge jumbled mess.

If you’re new to my blog, then there’s one thing you should know about me. I can handle dust and dirt, but disorder is my nemesis.

I’ve been known to stop family movies just to take a moment to clean up because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t enjoy the special time with my family – the mess is just too distracting.

So, there’s a bit of frenetic energy that bubbles up inside of me when I’m working on a room.

I know that mess will soon be handled, but it has a tendency to undo me.

That’s when it hit me.

Our lives are on the constant deconstructing, rebuilding, refreshed cycle.

In order to get to the beautiful, sometimes the ugly needs to happen.

And there may also be some hard work that we need to do to get there.

Anyway, it gave me some perspective this week and I thought I would share that with you all.
