Welcome Home Sunday Week 85
Every week, a group of home decor bloggers gather together sharing their best posts from the previous week. This is Welcome Home Sunday Week 85.

Ever feel like you can’t do all the things you need to do?
The list seems forever long.
Work schedules, school schedules, get togethers.
Not to mention laundry, groceries, bills and housework.
There are times when it just is simply overwhelming.
But each day, we accomplish something, don’t we?
It may not be all the things on our to do list, but somehow, they all get done eventually.
But I have to be honest.
I struggle with that to do list.
And my focus falls away, and then the next thing you know, the house is clutter and laundry is spilling over the hamper.
Running two businesses while working full time is a tough job and there aren’t enough hours in the day to do all the things.
But I’m learning to tell myself that it’s okay. That having dusty baseboards and dishes in the sink won’t ruin me.
Not to say that it goes against everything my semi-OCD self is made up of.
I love to have everything clean and in its place.
So tell me, how do you handle things when you just can’t do all the things?
Here’s what I’ve been doing.
Letting it go.
If it’s a choice between spending time with my family watching a movie, or having a sparkling kitchen – family time will always win.
That’s not to say we shouldn’t clean, but it’s okay to say no sometimes.
I think if we all learned to let go a little bit of all the things we feel we must do, creating that weight of burden on our shoulders, we would be so much happier.
The Lord said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30
Doesn’t that sound like perfection?
It certainly does to me. All the things of the earth will fall away, but He will last forever. A dear friend once told me that it should always be babies over baseboards, and while I don’t have little ones anymore, these teen boys are still so very precious to me and will win every time.
So, let’s get on with some inspiration, shall we?
I am so excited that my sweet friend Tracy from Jersey Girl in the South is joining us. She is such a kind hearted woman, who shares a love for vintage goodies and I know you will absolutely love her! This week, she is sharing her faux brick wall and it’s gorgeous!
