Each and every week, a group of bloggers gathers together for Welcome Home Sunday Week 58 to share their homes with you hoping to inspire you to create something beautiful in your home!
Today, I’m sharing a secret with you!
While I enjoy collecting things, there is a huge part of me that LOVES to throw things away!
Cleaning out closets, emptying the fridge of old food, dropping off items at a thrift store – all the things that get me giddy!
I also think that’s why I’m drawn to organizing. Out with the useless and in with the useful.
This week, I finally marked a task off my to do list that has been living in my brain since 2014.
So six years ago, I started undertaking the huge task of scanning all of our old tax papers and shredding what could go.
For our entire married lives, Trent and I have been contract labor, meaning every single receipt is important.
That’s A LOT of paper, my friend!
So this time six years ago, I started the task and made great progress, until….
A few months later, we moved from Las Vegas to Tennessee and I never got back into the swing of things.
Each tax season, I made sure to scan that years documents, but there were 5 years left to archive.
I was done with this to do interrupting my head space.
So this week, I tackled the beast and won!
Scanned, archived and shredded all the old taxes and keeping hard copies for just the past seven years.
But oh boy, does it feel good to get that done!
I also have three bags of shredded paper to take out to the trash and I cannot wait to free myself of this!
Are you like that? Happy to get new things, but equally as glad to see things go?
Share with me in the comments below! I’d love to know!
But now, onto this week’s Welcome Home Sunday digest.
I’m so super excited to have Shawna from Willow Bloom Home Blog joining us this week. She has a beautiful home full of renos and DIYs for your enjoyment!
