Blogging Resources

Blogging Resources

Becoming a blogger has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life and I am here today because of all the help I received along the way. Ever since blogging the past few years, I often get asked what resources I use for blogging, photography, and computer platforms.

Just as people helped me, I thought I would do the same and create a blogging resources page sharing all my favorite tools to help me along!  If you have any questions about anything I use, feel free to contact me anytime! I’d love to help out any budding blogger as much as I can!

Computer Equipment

We are long time Mac users in this house and I blog using my Macbook Pro along with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I love that after I edit my photos, I can send them directly to my phone airdrop.

Camera Gear

I purchased my big girl camera a few years ago and it’s still my fav. I use a Canon Rebel T7i but hope to upgrade in the next year.

The best investment in my camera gear has been my remote and tripod. Being able set the camera in a corner to get the perfect angle is so much easier with this tripod. It has two extension options on the legs as well as a crank handle to raise and lower the camera. Another plus is that it can shoot in landscape and portrait mode.

Using the remote, I’m able to set the camera in the corner and remotely get the perfect shot.

Blog Hosting

When I started, I used blogger because it was free, but I wanted to be able to customize my site more, so I switched to WordPress.org which means you need a hosting website.

I opted for Big Scoots. I found them to be quite affordable and their customer service is above the mark! When I switched to self-hosting, I had many questions. Big Scoots helped me each time I created a support ticket with super fast response.

Blog Theme

I use the Feast Plugin on the Genesis framework.

It’s great for optimal pagespeed and they offer great video tutorials to get it set up.

Photo Editing Tools

Get a 7-day Free Trial at PicMonkey

For years, I have used PicMonkey as my go to photo editor. It’s user friendly and by upgrading to the pro site, the extra tools and fonts make it a easy to resize and customize your photos. Then I resize my photos using TinyPng.

For Instagram, I use the Snapseed and Word Swag apps.

Email

I love the Flodesk Email Platform. Easy to use and loads of tutorials on how to set it up on their website or anywhere on the web. Plus their templates are beautiful!
